Clash! Version S
Are video games art? It depends on who you ask or what game you are referring to. But that's to be expected: Art is subjective. What of game design, then? It is a complex art form that unites the crafts of many artists. Like any other art, a video game reflects the beliefs, culture, tastes, and opinions of its artists and authors.
My senior project was to gather several artists throughout my community and have them create fighters for a game. The characters would represent the creativity and ideals of their creators, and thus the game would reflect the diversity of artists even in a close community. The game is Clash! Not only are the fighters clashing for victory on the stage, but their art styles and their characterizations clash with each other as well.
The senior project version of the game is finished, but I still feel that the game is incomplete. I did not get all of the fighters I wanted, nor did I make all of the stages I foresaw. Therefore, Version S will be the first official release of Clash! for senior project purposes, but work will still continue and Version 1 will release when I see fit.
To play Clash! follow these instructions.
